Wedding photography commission at the Angel View Inn, Gateshead.
This was my first time being commissioned to photograph a wedding at the picturesque Angel View Inn, a charming venue nestled in the heart of Gateshead. Upon arriving, I was immediately struck by the stunning surroundings and the warm, inviting atmosphere that the Inn offered. The venue itself is known for its beautiful architecture and scenic views, making it a popular choice for couples looking to tie the knot in a memorable setting.
What surprised me most during my visit was the proximity of the iconic Angel of the North, a monumental sculpture designed by Antony Gormley, which stands majestically just a short distance away from the Inn. This famous landmark, with its impressive wingspan, is not only a symbol of the North East of England but also a breathtaking backdrop for wedding photographs. The opportunity to capture the bride and groom against this striking sculpture added an extra layer of significance and beauty to the day.
As the ceremony unfolded, I was filled with excitement and anticipation, knowing that I would soon have the chance to create lasting memories for the couple in such a unique location. After the vows were exchanged and the couple shared their first kiss as newlyweds, we made our way outside, where the sunlight bathed the scene in a soft, golden glow. The bride, in her elegant gown, and the groom, looking dapper in his suit, were a picture-perfect pair against the backdrop of the Angel of the North. I took my time to frame each shot carefully, ensuring that the sculpture was prominently featured, symbolising their union and the beginning of their journey together.
The combination of the couple's joy and the striking scenery made for some truly magical photographs. I captured candid moments as they laughed, embraced, and celebrated with their friends and family. Each click of the shutter felt like a celebration of love, and I was honoured to be the one documenting such a significant day in their lives. The Angel of the North, towering in the background, served not only as a stunning visual element but also as a reminder of the rich cultural heritage of the area, adding depth to the couple's story.
Overall, my experience photographing this wedding at the Angel View Inn was not only a professional milestone but also a personal delight, as I was able to explore the beauty of Gateshead while doing what I love most. I look forward to more opportunities to create unique and memorable wedding photography in such remarkable locations in the future.
