It was a lovely sunny day, with the sun shining brightly in the clear blue sky, creating a vibrant atmosphere that was both inviting and somewhat challenging for photography. The intensity of the sunlight made it a little tricky to photograph outside, as the harsh light could easily wash out colours and create unflattering contrasts in the images. The brilliance of the sun, while beautiful, posed a significant challenge for capturing moments in the most flattering way.

To navigate the difficulties presented by such bright conditions, I employed the technique of fill flash, which allowed me to balance the exposure between the brightly lit backgrounds and the subjects in the foreground. By strategically using fill flash, I was able to illuminate the wedding couple without overpowering the natural light, ensuring that their features were well-defined and vibrant. Additionally, I made a conscious effort to utilise the shadows cast by nearby buildings and trees, seeking out shaded areas where the couple could stand. This approach not only provided a more even lighting situation but also helped to prevent the whites in their attire from burning out in the harsh sunlight, which can often lead to a loss of detail and texture.

Whenever possible, I photographed the couple in these shaded spots, skillfully positioning them to take advantage of the natural elements around us. This technique allowed me to create soft, flattering portraits that highlighted their joy on this special day while avoiding the harsh shadows that can often fall across the face when illuminated by direct sunlight. By carefully considering the light and the environment, I aimed to capture the essence of their celebration in a way that would preserve the beauty of the moment and the intricate details of their wedding attire.
